The
Feline Control Council of Western Australia Inc. is a Registering Body
for pedigreed cats and kittens. All breeding stock and kittens born to
cats owned by FCCWA Inc. The Feline Control Council of Western Australia Inc. was formed in 1968 when the existing Cat Clubs in Western Australia decided to merge and form one association. The newly formed Council became a "Breed Society" within the Royal Agricultural Society of W.A. remaining under their patronage until 1988. It was decided at that time that for a number of reasons the FCCWA Inc. should become an independent Body and take charge of it's own affairs. Since 1988 we have grown and become a financially sound organisation and have just bought premises which will be our permanent Office facility for many years to come. FCCWA Inc. takes pride in the standard of service which we provide for our Members. We now have the benefits of an email address and, with the introduction of this Website which will provide access to stationery from their own computer, we hope to cut down on the time taken by postal services. We publish a quarterly magazine "Catcall" which is informative and well received and will shortly investigate downloading show schedules for our Clubs. Our affiliation to the Australian Cat Federation Inc., and through that body to the World Cat Congress, keeps us abreast of what is happening in the Cat Fancy world wide. Over the years our association with these organisations has been of great benefit to FCCWA Inc. and has eliminated the isolation which once was a problem for the owners and breeders in this State. FCCWA Inc. has a solid membership of dedicated cat lovers and many breeders of long-standing who are spread from the far north of the State to the south coast. We are proud of the standard of our Shows and are at the forefront of recognition and acceptance of new breeds and varieties of cats, both locally and nationally. Western Australian bred cats compete with great success in the national arena and the quality of our cats is due in no small part to the dedication to the pursuit of excellence by our Breeders. We look forward to an exciting future |
